Terms of Use

These terms are the agreement between you and Translatable for your use of the app. Please read them, because using the app means you accept them.

Last updated: 11 July 2026

1. Acceptance

By downloading, accessing, or using Translatable (the "app"), you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. If you use the app on Apple's App Store, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (EULA) also applies and, where it conflicts with these terms, the parts of Apple's EULA that give you greater rights prevail.

2. What Translatable does

Translatable turns your speech into flashcards to help you learn a language. It records your speech, converts it to text on your device, finds your most-used words and phrases, translates them, and builds study material such as flashcards and verb-conjugation tables. How your data is handled is described in our Privacy Policy.

3. Your account

You can use the entire app as a guest, with everything stored on your device. You may also create an account (via Google, Apple, or an email sign-in link) to sync your learning across devices. You're responsible for keeping access to your account secure. You can delete your account and its synced data at any time in Settings ▸ Account & Sync ▸ Delete Account.

4. Subscriptions, trials & purchases

Translatable offers Translatable Premium as auto-renewable subscriptions (billed monthly or yearly) and as a one-time lifetime purchase. The following applies to purchases made through Apple's App Store:

  • Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
  • Free trial. If a subscription includes a free trial, any unused portion of the trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, it converts to a paid subscription at the price shown at purchase.
  • Managing & cancelling. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your device's Settings ▸ your name ▸ Subscriptions (App Store). Cancelling stops the next renewal; it doesn't refund the current period.
  • Payment & pricing. Payment is charged to your App Store account. Prices are shown in the app before purchase and may vary by region; we may change prices for future periods with notice as required by the store.
  • Refunds. Purchases are handled by Apple, and refunds are governed by Apple's policies. We don't process payments and can't issue store refunds directly.
  • Lifetime purchase. The lifetime option is a one-time, non-consumable purchase that unlocks Premium features for as long as the app is reasonably supported; it is not a subscription and does not renew.

Premium unlocks features such as unlimited card generation from your speech, removal of ads, all languages at once, a higher daily card allowance, and the Insights dashboard.

5. Acceptable use

Please use the app lawfully. Don't attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer, or abuse the translation service or the app, and don't use it to process content you have no right to process. We may limit or suspend access that harms the service or other users.

6. Your content

Your transcripts and flashcards are yours. To operate the app we process the words and phrases you choose to translate (see the Privacy Policy). Anonymous, short translations may be cached and added to a shared dictionary to make the app faster and cheaper for everyone; this never includes your identity or full personal sentences.

7. Third-party services

The app relies on third-party services including Apple and Google (sign-in, speech recognition, payments, ads), our translation service, and analytics and subscription providers described in our Privacy Policy. Your use of those services is also subject to their own terms.

8. Disclaimers

Translations are produced by machine translation and may be imperfect, and the app is a learning aid, not a substitute for professional translation. The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Translatable and its developer are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; we'll change the "last updated" date above and, for meaningful changes, note them in the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.

12. Contact

Questions about these terms, email mattycaroro@icloud.com. You'll be writing directly to the developer.
